These are some of the practical applications of our values, and what you can expect to encounter when you visit us.
Expository Preaching: We believe that God has called us to teach from the Bible every Sunday morning. We believe that God’s word is what supernaturally accomplishes life transformation in us. Therefore, we teach verse by verse, passage by passage through books of the Bible. However, we also believe that our teaching should always be clear, relevant and practical to the hearer; accomplishing not just head knowledge, but life change. Sound doctrine is neither sound nor doctrine unless it works in real life!
Casual, Friendly Atmosphere: We believe that the only barrier to faith in our midst should be the cross itself. Therefore, we value a warm and inviting environment, where you can wear your jeans, grab a cup of coffee, meet new people and be yourself! So, come as you are! (But be prepared to leave challenged!)
Contemporary Worship: We value worship as being a time of authentic relationship with God. We have a great band, with musicians who have a heart to lead us into God's presence. During the course of the morning, you will notice that we engage in various forms of worship – singing, reading the Bible together, giving, etc. You may also see some people lift their hands as an expression of their worship. We want you to feel very free to just sit back and observe, or to participate with us fully! It is our sincere desire that you will feel challenged during your time here, but not obligated in any way!
Family Friendly: We value kids and love having them around! All children are always welcome in the worship service if you wish. We provide full time care for birth through 2nd grade. 3rd to 6th graders are invited to join their parents for worship, and then we will dismiss them to their own class before the message. On the first Sunday of each month we have our family communion service. We have “family tables” covered with butcher paper and stocked with crayons for families to use, we provide simple musical instruments for the kids to use for part of the service, and we invite families to participate together in partaking of the Lord’s supper!
Relational Outreach: Although we value the importance of welcoming anyone in our service, we believe that the main purpose of our worship service is to grow believers through corporate worship and the preaching of The Bible. Therefore, we believe that outreach mostly happens when we show up at work or school on Monday mornings; and as we interact with our family, friends and neighbors throughout the week. You will be challenged to serve, pray for and share the gospel with the non-believers with whom God has providentially placed you in relationship. We will pray with you, hold you accountable and help you to make a difference in your own mission field!
